Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks an accomplished Director, Construction Services Business Development - Commercial Lines to lead a team of Territory Managers and Field Underwriters. You will own sales and underwriting relationships for commercial lines, build agency partnerships, and drive portfolio growth across a national footprint.

The role is remote with travel, requiring strong leadership, strategic planning, and deep underwriting expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; professional designation preferred.
10 years of commercial line underwriting, sales, marketing and agency management experience.
Deep knowledge of property/casualty insurance operations and commercial lines practices.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Territory Managers and Underwriters; drive sales and underwriting relationships for commercial lines.
Build and maintain relationships with agencies/brokers to grow sales and distribution.
Strategize portfolio analysis, pricing, and renewal retention to drive profitable growth.
Travel as needed and lead cross-functional collaboration across Loss Control, Claims, Marketing, and Technology.
