Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Deputy Compliance Officer to coordinate and manage the Compliance Program under the Vice President, CCIA. This role includes developing metrics, data analytics, and overseeing COI, System Wide Exclusion, Revenue Compliance, and non-employed clinician agreements.

You will lead risk assessment, policy reviews, and training activities while mentoring staff and collaborating with leadership and Legal. Normal office environment in Rhode Island.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, political science, or health care policy required.
• Certified compliance professional designation such as CHC/CHPC preferred from HCCA.
• CPC from AAMC is preferred.
• Four to seven years of healthcare compliance and privacy experience with (or without) management responsibility.
• Strong written and oral communication, planning, follow-up, critical thinking, diplomacy, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the compliance risk assessment process and data analysis.
• Plan, manage, and update investigation tools and protocols; consult legal counsel as needed.
• Review compliance and privacy policies per Annual Compliance Plan.
• Lead data integrity, reliability, reporting, and risk trending.
• Oversee Conflict of Interest reports for committees and COI program.
• Lead Compliance exclusion checking and non-employed clinician contract reviews.
• Co-develop the annual Compliance & Privacy workplan.
• Collaborate with VP CCIA, entity leadership, Legal, Internal Audit, and stakeholders to mitigate risk.
• Stay informed on new compliance and privacy risks and best practices.
• Mentor staff and develop cross-coverage and continuity.
• Lead Revenue Compliance auditing and clinician education initiatives.
• Manage non-employed physician contract review and FMV assessments.
• Facilitate System Policy process with dashboards and leadership updates.
