Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Deputy Compliance Officer reporting to the Vice President, CCIA, to coordinate and advance the Compliance Program. You will develop metrics, monitor risk assessments, and oversee COI, System Wide Exclusion, and non-employed clinician agreements.

You will mentor staff, manage audits, and collaborate with Legal Services, Internal Audit, and leadership to mitigate risks and enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, nursing, political science, or health care policy.
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Certification preferred: CHC/CHPC from HCCA; CPC from AAMC is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the compliance risk assessment process and data analysis with follow-up activity.
  • Plan, manage, and update investigation tools and protocols; consult legal counsel as needed.
  • Review compliance and privacy policies and procedures per Annual Compliance Plan.
  • Lead data integrity efforts for reliable reporting and risk identification.
  • Oversee the Conflict of Interest program and COI reporting to committees.
  • Lead the Compliance exclusion checking program and non-employed physician reviews.
  • Co-lead development of the annual Compliance & Privacy workplan.
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to identify and mitigate non-compliance risks.
  • Stay informed on emerging compliance/privacy risks and best practices.
  • Engage and develop staff to ensure effective outcomes and continuity.
  • Lead Revenue Compliance Auditing and clinician education in partnership with Revenue Compliance.
  • Manage non-employed physician contract reviews and fair market value assessments.
  • Facilitate System Policy process and communicate updates to leadership and committees.
