Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Deputy Compliance Officer to lead and continuously improve the compliance program, including data analytics, risk assessment, COI, and Revenue Compliance. You will oversee policy reviews and staff development, collaborating with executive leadership and Legal Services to mitigate risk.

The role requires managing a team of up to ten FTEs, driving training, audits, and education initiatives in a complex healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Four to seven years of healthcare compliance and privacy experience required.
• Management experience or progression in compliance/privacy roles.
• Knowledge of coding, billing, access and provider enrollment in Revenue Cycle.
• CHC/CHPC designation from HCCA preferred.
• CPC designation from AAMC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the compliance risk assessment process with data analysis, risk assessments, mitigations and follow-up.
• Plan, manage and update investigation tools and protocols with legal counsel input as needed.
• Review compliance and privacy policies per Annual Compliance Plan.
• Lead data integrity efforts for reporting and risk identification/trending.
• Oversee the COI program and System Exclusion processes; manage non-employed clinician contracts.
• Co-lead development of annual Compliance & Privacy workplan; engage with leadership to mitigate risk.
• Mentor staff and oversee training, monitoring and education activities.
