Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in New Jersey seeks a Director of Compliance & Ethics Investigations to lead internal investigations, develop plans, and interview witnesses.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Conduct internal compliance investigations (routine to complex); develop investigation plans; interview witnesses.
• Manage global investigations firms and/or outside counsel; oversee interviews and evidence collection/review.
• Research, collect, and analyze large data sets (per privacy laws); identify issues; draft timely, accurate reports.
• Develop expertise in high-risk international geographies and/or US subject areas for investigations.
• Assist in managing and developing more junior team members.
• Collaborate with risk and monitoring functions to analyze investigation analytics.
• Prepare written/oral summaries and presentations to business, executive leaders, and HR.
• Present investigation findings to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Partner/liaise with HR/Employee Relations, Corporate Security, Law, external counsel, Cybersecurity, and Quality.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure needed subject‑matter expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years investigative/legal/compliance experience (law firm, in‑house, forensic/consulting, or government); prior in‑house pharmaceutical experience preferred.
• Knowledge/experience with pharmaceutical laws and industry (e.g., HCP interactions, FDCA, AKS, FCPA/FCA, GMP, GCP).
• Strong judgment/objectivity; root-cause analysis; systematic decision making.
• Proven investigation/project management across all phases (plans, data/evidence review, interviews, documentation, findings).
• Excellent communication with tact/diplomacy; ability to debate topics with senior leadership.
• Lead by example to cultivate compliance culture; respect confidentiality.

Compensation / Benefits (as stated)

• Starting range: $200,430–$242,874 (Madison/Giralda, NJ; Princeton, NJ).
• Additional incentive (cash/stock, eligibility-based).
