Job description

The Director of Compliance Data & Insights is responsible for building, guiding, and evolving the data ecosystem that supports the Compliance organization. This role owns how compliance-related data is defined, governed, protected, and used across the enterprise. You will operate as the central authority for compliance data, ensuring it is trustworthy, well-controlled, and positioned to support regulatory obligations and strategic decision‑making.

This role requires a strong balance of strategic leadership and hands‑on engagement. You will work closely with Compliance leaders to understand operational needs and data challenges, while partnering with Technology teams to shape roadmaps, prioritize enhancements, and ensure delivery of high‑value data capabilities. A core focus will be aligning systems such as Workday with Compliance objectives and long‑term enterprise data strategy.

Salary is 200k to 250k + bonus

Lead Compliance Data Strategy
  • Set the direction for how compliance data is managed, integrated, and consumed across the organization.
  • Translate regulatory, operational, and workforce priorities into scalable data initiatives.
  • Champion new data capabilities by defining scope, value, and sequencing of work.
  • Ensure delivery efforts remain aligned with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
Establish Strong Data Oversight
  • Own governance frameworks covering compliance‑related employee and contractor data.
  • Define rules for data access, usage, and stewardship in line with enterprise policies.
  • Ensure data handling meets internal standards, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements.
  • Serve as a key decision‑maker for data‑related risks and escalations.
Own Data Foundations & Definitions
  • Identify and maintain authoritative data sources and systems of record.
  • Drive consistency in business terminology through ownership of data definitions.
  • Maintain visibility into data movement, dependencies, and transformations.
  • Continuously improve documentation and metadata quality across the compliance data landscape.
Drive Data Quality & Accountability
  • Partner with stakeholders to define meaningful data quality measures.
  • Prioritize and oversee resolution of data issues impacting compliance operations or reporting.
  • Review corrective actions to ensure root causes are addressed, not just symptoms.
  • Promote a culture where data ownership and accountability are clearly defined.
What You Bring
  • Deep experience working with compliance‑focused data platforms and complex data environments.
  • Strong command of data governance, quality management, metadata, and lineage concepts.
  • Ability to connect business goals with data solutions in highly regulated settings.
  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Proven success navigating regulatory requirements within financial services or banking.
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
Experience
  • 7+ years in senior leadership roles (Director / Executive Director level).
  • 3+ years of direct experience in data management and data quality functions.
  • Background in data design, governance frameworks, audits, and IT collaboration preferred.
