Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, Compliance Advisor to lead the second-line risk management functions and ensure that corporate initiatives and business processes comply with applicable laws and regulations. You will provide expert compliance guidance across lines of business and participate in or drive corporate processes.

The role emphasizes developing controls, training, reviews, and effective challenge on compliance risks, including UDAAP validations and regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
• At least 8 years of risk management, compliance, audit or legal experience.
• At least 3 years of consumer financial services experience.

Responsibilities

• Review complaints from lines of business and guide remediation with subject matter experts.
• Identify data trends and proactively advise on external and internal risks.
• Maintain expertise of applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform and review control assessments for accuracy and test procedures.
• Evaluate Internal Audit, Regulatory Exam and self-identified issues for compliance impacts.
• Provide guidance on compliance risks and support risky business areas through engagements.
• Advise lines of business on application of compliance requirements for new products and processes.
• Assist in development and maintenance of the compliance program and monitoring activities.
• Support lines of business through expert advice and change management of processes.
• Conduct targeted validations and reviews on controls for applicable regulations.
