Job summary

Consumers Energy, a leading Michigan energy provider, seeks a Director of Compensation. You will design and administer comprehensive compensation programs, including executive and incentive plans, ensuring alignment with strategy and legal compliance.

You will partner with payroll, legal, finance, and HR leadership to drive competitive rewards and governance. You will lead strategic compensation initiatives, manage communications, and support disclosure practices for governance and shareholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related area with 10+ years of progressive compensation experience.
• Associate's degree +12+ years of progressive compensation experience.
• High School diploma +14+ years of progressive compensation experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct the design of compensation programs that align with strategy and values.
• Oversee compensation policy administration and legal compliance.
• Develop and administer salary budgets and cost controls.
• Lead executive and incentive compensation design and governance.
• Develop testimony and responses for rate-case requirements as needed.
• Collaborate with payroll, legal, and finance leadership on compensation matters.
