Job summary

The USO in Arlington, VA is seeking a Director of Compensation Benefits & HRIS to lead total rewards programs and HR systems for a globally dispersed nonprofit.

You will oversee compensation structures, benefits strategies, HRIS implementations, and data accuracy while partnering with leaders to ensure equity and compliance. This in-person role offers strong benefits and opportunities to support military families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 years progressively responsible work experience in Compensation, Benefits and HR systems.
  • Experience in nonprofit, military, or global organizations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and analyze compensation programs including job families, pay grades, and salary data.
  • Coordinate salary surveys and market competitiveness reviews; ensure internal equity.
  • Lead and mentor HRIS, Compensation & Benefits staff; manage external provider relationships.

Director Compensation Benefits & HRIS responsibilities

The Director Compensation Benefits & HRIS is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation ongoing maintenance and improvement and the regulatory compliance of total rewards programs and HR systems Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties Oversee and analyze and maintain compensation programs including but not limited to the evaluation of job families pay grades and salary data In coordination with HR Leadership Team administer performance review and merit increase process Oversee participation in salary surveys and market competitiveness reviews Ensure internal equity between positions Oversee Special Pays and Currency Equalization programsLead and contribute to the development of competitive and cost effective benefits strategies including the analysis implementation and ongoing maintenance of health welfare and retirement programs Coordinate data collection analysis preparation and distribution of applicable regulatory filingposting requirementsCollaborate and lead coordinated identification and analysis of process system and technology needs related to human capital best practices and datarecords managementLead design and delivery of communication strategies for compensation benefits and HR systems programs plans and policiesManage relationships with external providers including brokers recordkeepers consultants and service providersImprove the effectiveness efficiency value and utility of Total Rewards and HRIS across the organization Provide consulting services to USO colleagues both within Human Resources and in other functions or regionsLead manage and mentor HRIS Manager and HR Specialist Compensation & Benefits staff Perform assigned duties in the absence of Vice President Human ResourcesOther duties as assignedThis is an in person position located in Arlington VA

Job Specifications

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field Masters Degree preferred10 years progressively responsible work experience administering Compensation Benefits and HR systems including 5 years in a supervisory capacity Relevant experience in a non profit military multicultural andor global organization preferredIn depth understanding of the Human Resources functional processes compliance requirements and business needs of a mid sized globally dispersed organization Familiarity with global pay and benefits practices and HR system requirements for Italy Korea Japan andor UAE Dubai & Abu Dhabi preferredDemonstrated ability to lead high performing teams Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environmentStrong interpersonal and problem solving skills Ability to interact with USO Leadership the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalismDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial andor culturally sensitive subjects Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poiseWorking knowledge of basic business and accounting functions including project management and budgetingDemonstrated initiativeself motivation with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needsProficiency using computers and electronics equipment Working knowledge of various software applications and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite human resource and learning management systems Familiarity with UltiPro ClearCompany andor SkilSoft preferredAbility to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security credit andor background screening SOFA status valid drivers licenseMust be a strong advocate of the USOs mission

Salary

The salary range for this position is 144000 180000To support pay transparency this posting includes the anticipated base salary range for this role Compensation is determined based on several factors including geographic location relevant experience specialized skills certifications and overall alignment with the position requirements Our compensation practices are designed to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity across roles and levelsThis is an in person position located in Arlington VA
