Job Description

The Director, Community and Employee Engagement, is responsible for setting direction and executing the company’s community engagement strategy, employee engagement strategy related to community service, and the BOKF Foundation strategy. The role involves designing, leading and executing corporate-wide initiatives, overseeing the creation and execution of community and employee engagement strategies, and managing the CEE team that partners directly with the regional Community Relations Managers.

Leads a team that ensures compliance and nonprofit risk mitigation measures are implemented for all companywide BOKF Foundation grants; reviews quarterly foundation financials and annual IRS Form 990 and all IRS compliance policies and guidelines; sets direction for quarterly BOKF Foundation Board of Directors meetings and is responsible for director’s engagement of the BOK Financial corporate contribution strategy. Collaborates and works in direct partnership with the CHRO, CEO, executive leadership team, line of business leaders, BOKF Foundation Directors and key community constituents.

Responsible for budgetary, creative, and strategic guidance for the CEE and BOKF Foundation budget partnering directly with executive leadership team members, regional market executive teams, Community Relations Managers, BOKF CEO and BOKF Foundation Directors.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will lead and manage the community and employee engagement team by setting priorities, identifying opportunities, and fostering relationships.
  • You will guide regional community relations managers to align with community and employee engagement goals and BOKF Foundation strategy.
  • You will identify and create community and employee engagement goals and objectives, and develop implementation plans and budgets.
  • You will oversee execution of community and employee engagement initiatives, including United Way campaigns, employee nonprofit board volunteer participation, management of employee service award program, and annual employee giving programs.
  • You will manage and research BOKF Foundation and BOKF’s charitable contributions, approximately $8M annually.
  • You will be responsible for budgetary, creative, and strategic guidance for the community and employee engagement team and BOKF Foundation budgets partnering with the CEO, Foundation Directors, and executive leadership.
  • You will assess and negotiate annual giving and community event branding opportunities for the Corporation.
  • You will plan and develop image enhancement strategies for BOKF, both internally and externally.
  • You will work closely with CEO, CHRO, executive leadership, BOKF Foundation Directors and key community constituents to ensure community engagement initiatives align with company goals.
  • You will ensure compliance and nonprofit risk mitigation measures are implemented for all companywide BOKF Foundation grants, including quarterly and annual financials and taxes.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree focused on public relations, marketing, communications or similar majors and 7+ years of work experience in a related field or 14+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, communications and/or community relations.

  • In depth knowledge of the principles of effective publicity, advertising, communications, community relations, social services and government relations as they relate to the financial services industry
  • Advanced understanding of building and maintaining relationships with community and civic organizations, along with the ability to foster effective partnerships and public relations within the communities we support
  • Exceptional organizational and project coordination skills, enabling the management of multiple high-activity projects simultaneously under diverse conditions and constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Innovative mindset with a track record of developing creative engagement solutions
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial planning
  • Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools
