Google Cloud seeks a highly strategic Director to lead the Platform Security group in Sunnyvale, building and guiding high-performing teams and partnerships to ensure exceptional customer experiences for Cloud products.

The role shapes a comprehensive support strategy, aligns with Cloud Support’s vision, and drives innovation to scale operations cost-effectively during hyper-growth while influencing engineering on portfolio health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in threat detection, trust and safety or cyber security.
• Experience partnering with engineering to build scalable abuse detection/enforcement.
• Experience managing escalations and restoring customer trust.
• Experience guiding post-compromise recovery and remediation.
• Leadership in a technical security or support org, preferably Cloud.
• Experience with capacity planning, resource management & process optimization.
• Deep technical expertise in Cloud products and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy aligned with Cloud’s long-term vision.
• Define and lead a unified security operations strategy across cross-functional teams.
• Advise leadership on security risks and operational health; promote automation and reliability.
• Provide executive visibility into security posture, investments, and risks.
• Guide the team in developing deep product knowledge and cross-functional partnership.
