Job summary

The Director of Digital Platform Services at MGM Resorts International will spearhead cloud engineering, deployment automation, and platform operations to enable scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure across multiple clouds. You will drive an SRE-minded culture, improve developer self-service, and align strategies with enterprise goals.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years IT, 4+ years in leadership, cloud certifications, and hands-on IaC/CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of leadership experience in cloud engineering and operations within large-scale, complex enterprise environments.
• 8+ years of progressive IT experience with deep expertise in cloud services, infrastructure, and platform operations.
• Proven track record collaborating with infrastructure and application delivery teams to design and implement integrated, scalable IT solutions.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect.
• Automation within cloud environments, including hands-on experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools.
• Strong background in technical project management, strategic planning, and leading digital transformation initiatives in cloud-first or hybrid IT organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Platform Services team to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions aligned with enterprise technology goals
• Define and implement platform engineering strategies, leveraging containerization (Kubernetes), IaC, and automation at scale
• Develop and maintain deployment automation pipelines to accelerate and stabilize software delivery
• Drive secure, cost-effective, and resilient multi-cloud infrastructure through cloud engineering best practices
• Manage cloud landing zones for consistent, automated provisioning and governance
• Oversee platform operations with an SRE mindset—observability, reliability, incident response
• Champion a seamless developer experience with self-service tools and streamlined environments
• Lead team development, vendor relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to support continuous innovation
