Job summary

Everyday Health is seeking a Director of Engineering, Infrastructure to lead the team responsible for cloud infrastructure, backend services, and the developer experience. You will partner with CTO and cross-functional leaders to ensure reliability, scalability, and security while supporting product growth.

This remote role reports to the CTO and involves shaping technical strategy, hiring, and incident readiness. Minimal travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading teams or senior contributors.
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, backend systems, web tech, and operational tooling.
• Experience operating and scaling systems on AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, deployment automation, and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a small Infrastructure Engineering team with hiring and performance management.
• Own technical direction for cloud infra, backend services, website, tooling, and observability.
• Improve reliability, scalability, security, and engineering effectiveness across the platform.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on architecture, strategy, and priorities.
• Lead incident response readiness and service ownership across the org.
• Balance long-term investments with fast-moving product needs.
• Ensure platform scales for future products and growth.
