Job summary

UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital seeks a PhD, MD or DO Geneticist at the Assistant/Associate Director or Director level to lead the Clinical Genomics Laboratory. You will provide technical leadership, ensure CLIA/CAP compliance, review QA plans, and sign out complex genetic testing including exome/genome analyses.

You will collaborate with UPMC and University of Pittsburgh partners, supervise staff and educate trainees, while pursuing teaching and research aligned with clinical genomics and public

Qualifications

• ABMGG board certified or board eligible in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or Clinical Molecular Genetics
• Minimum 3 years clinical laboratory experience
• Expertise in exome/genome analysis and interpretation of sequence and CNV data from NGS
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and operational leadership
• Proficiency with LIMS and genomic data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and compliance oversight for UCGL at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital
• Case sign out and education/training of staff, residents and fellows
• Develop, validate, implement and maintain laboratory procedures
• Collaborate with UPMC and University partners on service development and business planning
• Consult with clinicians on test selection and result interpretation
• Maintain ABMGG certification and stay current with genomics advances
