Job summary

Hoxton Circle seeks a Director of Client Finance in New York to lead the commercial finance relationship across a portfolio of major clients. You’ll own pricing, contracts, staffing strategy and profitability, while guiding a small team and partnering with senior stakeholders.

You will operate at a strategic level with autonomy, balancing hands-on accounting work with broader commercial leadership in a fast-paced media environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Experience within a media agency environment.

• Strong commercial finance experience with exposure to pricing, contracts and revenue management.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial finance relationship across a portfolio of major clients, including businesses with a global scope.
• Partner directly with clients on pricing, commercial negotiations, reporting and ongoing financial matters.
• Work across new business opportunities, contract and MSA negotiations, pricing structures and commercial terms.
• Partner with business leaders on staffing plans and utilization, ensuring client teams are structured appropriately and profitably.
• Analyze client and account profitability, identifying risks and opportunities and driving actions to improve commercial performance.
• Own forecasting, budgeting and ongoing P&L management across your portfolio.
• Oversee revenue recognition, accruals, journals and other key accounting activities.
• Partner with procurement teams and vendors on commercial negotiations.
• Ensure financial and commercial obligations are being met across complex client agreements.
• Lead, develop and mentor two direct reports while working closely with senior finance leadership.
• Operate autonomously at a strategic level while remaining willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.

We’re partnering with a global media organizations on the search for a Director of Client Finance to join its New York team.

This is a highly commercial, client-facing finance role with ownership of a portfolio of major clients. You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders on everything from pricing and contract negotiations to staffing strategy and profitability, while leading a team and acting as a key commercial partner to the wider business.

What we’re looking for:

• 8+ years of progressive finance experience
• Experience within a media agency environment
• Ideally operating at Associate Director or recently promoted Director level
• Strong commercial finance experience with exposure to client profitability, pricing, contracts and revenue management
• The ability to combine a strong accounting foundation with a genuinely commercial mindset
• Experience partnering directly with senior clients and internal business leaders
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
• Someone comfortable owning a significant portfolio and operating with a high degree of autonomy
