Job summary

YMCA of Columbia-Willamette in Portland is seeking a Director for our Providence Portland Child Development Center to lead staff, uphold licensing standards, and oversee daily operations with a focus on a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for children.

This full-time hybrid role reports to Tatiana Pavelka, Leader of Youth Development, with compensation of $25.50–$27.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Pass YMCA Background Check
• Meet Oregon Director standards including Step 9 in the Oregon Registry or equivalent credentials
• Current enrollment in the Oregon Registry or ability to enroll prior to employment
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• At least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Hire and supervise program staff
• Maintain licensing standards
• Manage budget and purchasing of supplies
• Communicate with parents and community partners
• Ensure accurate record keeping and timely administrative tasks
• Update and implement emergency procedures
• Manage daily operation of the center
