Job summary

YMCA of Columbia Willamette seeks a dedicated Teacher for the before- and after-school program in Tigard, OR. You will help create a safe, enriching classroom environment and support children’s development through structured activities.

Under Site Director and Lead Teacher supervision, you will model YMCA core values, communicate with families, and collaborate with staff to design daily schedules. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

Must pass YMCA background check.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment.
Prior work experience with childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

Incorporate and model YMCA core values in daily work.
Commit to establishing long-term work relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members and families.
Ability to communicate well with children, staff and parents.
Ability to work independently as well as lead work teams.
Perform all duties in the program and substitute for program leads when available.
Design and implement a daily schedule that enhances cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
