Job summary

American Board of Emergency Medicine seeks a strategic Director, Certifying Examination Administration to lead planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the Certifying Examination program. You will oversee exam readiness, logistics, volunteers, candidate management, and staff, while partnering with technology, executive leadership, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality exam delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education, Health Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years in program management, certification, credentialing, or assessment operations.
• Experience leading high-stakes programs with multiple stakeholders and timelines.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration of ABEM's Certifying Examination program.
• Drive exam readiness, operational planning, and risk mitigation.
• Oversee logistics, volunteer coordination, candidate management, and staffing needs.
• Partner with technology teams on system enhancements, testing, and reliability.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning.
• Lead change management and post-exam reviews.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting.
• Attend Certifying Exam administrations (approx. 9 weeks travel annually).
