Job summary

CTMC, a pioneering biotech joint venture at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, seeks a Director of Business Development to lead partnerships in cell therapy development and manufacturing. This on-site role sits within the PAL team and focuses on executing strategic opportunities from pipeline to contracts.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in biopharma, strong deal-making and negotiation skills, CRM experience, and is comfortable traveling ~20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required; graduate degree (PhD or MBA) preferred.
• 15+ years of biopharmaceutical experience, including 6+ years in a Corporate/Business Development role.
• Experience implementing and/or managing CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Monday.com).
• Experience with cell therapy manufacturing highly preferred.
• Track record of deal making and strong negotiation skills.
• Strong communication, analytical capabilities, and exceptional presentation skills.
• Demonstrate organization, focus, and diplomacy skills; high emotional intelligence.
• Able to travel as needed (approx. 20%).

Responsibilities

• Define partner profiles and acquisition strategy across cell therapy modalities.
• Build and maintain relationships through all stages of project pipeline.
• Identify prospective biotech and academic partners for development and manufacturing.
• Represent CTMC at conferences; develop outreach strategies in coordination with leadership.
• Lead on-site visits and act as CTMC representative at the Texas Medical Center.
• Develop and refine strategic plans for the Alliance, including services and deliverables.
• Lead onboarding of CTMC's CRM system; serve as CRM champion.
• Lead or support negotiation of development and manufacturing agreements.
• Support expansion of current partnerships.
