Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Career Technical Vocational Education Director for Madison Park Technical Vocational High School. The role leads integration of CTE with academics, ensuring compliance and strong student outcomes across 27 programs, with collaboration across departments and partners.

You will drive professional development, oversee grants, and build partnerships with private-sector, nonprofit, and post-secondary entities to advance CTE initiatives within the district.

Qualifications

• Director of Vocational Education Certification
• Three years urban teaching/administrative experience in a vocational setting
• Master's degree plus 30 graduate semester hours
• Nine hours in educational administration/supervision courses
• Experience in establishing and maintaining a multicultural community of learning
• Knowledge of Chapter 74 regulations and grant-funding process requirements
• Experience creating and facilitating partnerships with business, college, and community

Responsibilities

• Ensure curriculum, schedules, and program operations follow Chapter 74 regulations and CTE Standards
• As a member of Administrative Leadership and ILT, plan and implement PD for CTE staff and contribute to Educational Plan
• Collaborate with Cooperative Education Coordinator, counselors, and teachers to support Cooperative Education program
• Create climate that motivates students and staff in CTE programs
• Recommend candidates to the Head of School
• Meet with CTE teachers to review instructional strategies
• Observe and evaluate instruction in CTE shops, labs, and classrooms
• Participate in assessment and placement of students in vocational programs
• Work with staff to monitor and analyze student performance
• Ensure vocational competency reports are available to parents/guardians
• Lead on developing Federal and State grants related to CTE
• Develop partnerships with private-sector, non-profit, and post-secondary organizations
• Organize Program Advisory Boards (PAB) and hold meetings
• Engage CTE teachers in PAB activities and collaborate with Family Liaison to inform parents
• Advise administration on funding allocations for facilities, materials, and equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations
