Job Summary

The Director of Campus Activities provides leadership for the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC), the Jaguar Production Crew, and campus-wide programming efforts. The position oversees facility operations, event support services, student staff, and the overall student experience within the student center, ensuring the building remains a welcoming, functional, and engaging hub for campus life. The Director collaborates with campus partners to support student engagement initiatives and enhance opportunities for involvement and connection.

Responsibilities
  • STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP AND VISION: Provide strategic leadership for the Campus Activities unit, including the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC) and Jaguar Production Crew. Direct and oversee business operations, including budget planning, financial management, human resources functions, performance evaluations, and administrative processes. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures through sound fiscal stewardship, personnel management, and continuous process improvement. Establish departmental goals, priorities, and assessment measures that support the mission of Student Life & Engagement and Augusta University. Develop and implement a long-term vision for campus programming, student engagement, and facility utilization. Utilize participation data, assessment results, and student feedback to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with campus partners to identify opportunities that enhance the student experience and strengthen campus culture. Ensure campus activities and student engagement initiatives align with institutional priorities related to retention, , and student success.
  • CAMPUS ACTIVITIES AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: Provide oversight for campus-wide programming efforts designed to increase student engagement and sense of collaboration. Supervise the planning and execution of major campus traditions and signature programs through the Assistant Director and Coordinators. Support the Jaguar Production Crew in developing innovative programs. Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to expand engagement opportunities across campus. Assess program effectiveness and utilize data to strengthen participation and student involvement outcomes. Ensure programming efforts contribute to the overall student experience and support institutional engagement goals.
  • STUDENT STAFF LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT: Provide direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Campus Activities and support the professional growth of departmental staff. Ensure staffing structures and operational coverage effectively support facility operations and campus programming. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of student employees within the JSAC and Jaguar Production Crew. Establish performance expectations and accountability measures that promote operational excellence and customer service. Develop leadership training and professional development opportunities for student employees. Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, communication, and student-centered service.
  • FACILITY OVERSIGHT AND OPERATIONS: Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the Jaguar Student Activities Center. Ensure the facility remains safe, functional, welcoming, and prepared to support students, events, and campus partners. Collaborate with the Coordinator of the JSAC to establish operational standards, customer service expectations, and facility procedures. Oversee facility assessments and identify opportunities for enhancements related to space utilization, furnishings, technology, and student amenities. Serve as the primary liaison with campus partners regarding facility operations, maintenance needs, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Monitor facility performance and operational effectiveness to ensure a high-quality student experience within the student center. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and risk management practices related to facility usage and event support services.
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active engagement in professional associations such as the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), National Associationfor Campus Activities (NACA), or other related student affairs organizations.
  • Accomplishments in student engagement, campus activities, student union operations, and/or campus-wide programming initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing student center operations, event support services, facility management, or large-scale campus facilities.
Required Qualifications

Masters degree from an Accredited College or University and five years of work experience in higher education or related field.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B13

Salary: $68,500.00/Annually-$87,300.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
