Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Business Integration Leader to orchestrate cross-functional CEI transformations and drive integrated planning with the Business Unit Engagement organization.

This role serves as the day-to-day face to CEI and partners across functions to ensure aligned execution of strategic initiatives. The BIL will implement identified CEI transformation initiatives, report to the Executive Director, and sit on their leadership team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical marketing, commercial strategy/strategic planning, or marketing support.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the business to improve organizational results
• Strong leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams and drive transformation initiatives forward
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work teams, or individuals
• Ability to implement long-term transformation strategies that align with organizational goals
• Execution and results-focused, per compliance standards; setting ambitious expectations for accomplishment and ensuring others contribute to organization strategies by focusing them on the most critical priorities, measuring progress and ensuring accountability against those metrics
• Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple transformation initiatives and ensure timely delivery
• Proficiency in managing organizational change and ensuring successful adoption of new capabilities and processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey transformation strategies, plans, and results to stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze performance data, interpret insights, and make data-driven decisions to inform transformation strategies.
• Expertise in developing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.

Responsibilities

• Lead early capability and transformation design, acting as the voice of the business for brand transformation.
• Monitor and evaluate transformation progress using capability adoption scorecard.
• Develop scaling plan and operating model around future BU use cases for cross-team integrations.
• Execute roadmap for scaling business opportunities across the BU over a 2-3 year horizon.
• Tie transformation agenda to clear business outcomes and metrics to track over time.
• Prioritize transformation projects based on strategic importance, resource availability, and impact.
• Implement transformation strategies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness.
• Monitor progress of transformation initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with BU Engagement Director to align on brand priorities and flexible resource usage.
