Job summary

Matrix Construction Services, a Texas-based general contractor serving the multifamily sector, seeks a Director of Business Development to grow existing relationships and land new opportunities across Texas and beyond.

In this market-facing, exempt role, you’ll travel regularly, qualify opportunities, coordinate with estimating and operations, and expand interior renovations as a core service.

Qualifications

• Experience growing existing accounts and developing new business in the multifamily sector.
• Strong relationship-building with owners, operators, and property personnel.
• Proven ability to qualify opportunities and move deals forward using Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Grow existing accounts by learning customers' businesses, relationships, current projects and capital needs.
• Build relationships with owners, operators, construction leaders, asset managers and property personnel.
• Turn customer conversations into real opportunities, including planning meetings, site walks, budgets, scopes and proposals.
• Develop new accounts through referrals, industry relationships, market intelligence, outreach and prospecting.
• Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional Matrix services, particularly interior renovations.
• Track property transactions, ownership changes and other market activity that may create opportunities.
• Maintain accurate account, opportunity and next-step information in Salesforce.
• Work with account managers, estimating, operations and business-unit leaders to pursue opportunities without disrupting relationships.
• Use good judgment about where Matrix should invest time and resources.
