Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Business Development to expand our client base in the United States, specifically in the Northeast region.
- Actively prospect and leverage new business opportunities within designated Customer/Accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and develop in-depth knowledge of Customer/Account organizations.
- Analyze opportunities and craft detailed business plans and sales strategies for each Customer/Account.
- Identify and respond to Customer/Account needs to define potential PSI opportunities, proposing appropriate strategies and solutions.
- Collaborate with Operations to identify sales teams, prepare presentations, and educate team members on Customer/Account culture and sales techniques.
- Lead the entire sales process, including team selection, presentation preparation, and sales presentation delivery.
- Coordinate with Proposal Development and Operations to develop proposals, finalize strategies, and set pricing.
- Manage follow-up activities related to sales and facilitate the completion of contractual documents.
- Ensure smooth hand-off to project teams by transferring knowledge of Customer/Account needs and expectations.
- Share Customer/Account strategies and sales plans with Project Directors/Managers.
- Work with Project Managers/Directors and Operations to address Customer/Account issues promptly.
- Seek input from Project Managers/Directors to proactively manage scope changes, new opportunities, or customer dissatisfaction.
- Negotiate Changes in Scope (CIS) with Customers/Accounts in collaboration with Project Managers/Directors and Operations.
- Maintain high visibility within Customer/Account organizations.
- Monitor Customer satisfaction through surveys and feedback.
- Coordinate with Project Managers/Directors to meet Customer/Account needs and address concerns timely.
- Review proposals, RFPs, and protocols.
- Attend industry events, organize meetings, and follow up with potential clients.
- Serve as a liaison between US clients and Operations as needed.
Qualifications
- University degree in health sciences or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Proven sales or business development experience, preferably in a Contract Research Organization or healthcare services.
- 3-5 years of business development experience in the CRO sales arena.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
