Qualifications

  • Previous Division or Regional P & L responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disrupt market norms and create new demand through a strong value proposition.
  • Position Motion as a solution provider to compete effectively and win deals.
  • Develop strategies to convert prospects into long-term customers with strategic supplier partners.
  • Tailor the value proposition for each potential customer and articulate impact on cost to produce.
  • Communicate value to all decision-makers and align internal teams for cohesive market execution.
  • Maintain active engagement with corporate accounts to maximize value and ensure long-term relationships.
  • Maintain CRM records and pipeline stages to guide the buying journey.

SUMMARY

The Director, Business Development delivers a comprehensive analysis of the most challenging and rewarding business opportunities within targeted industry segments and develops an industry leading team to support organic growth.

JOB DUTIES
  • Lead and build out a high performing team to leverage our strengths and align internal resources to accelerate growth within targeted industry segments for prospect customers.
  • Identifies and qualifies prospect customers who have the potential for significant annual revenue and are focused on a value-based buying culture.
  • Aggressively identifies opportunities for disruption, penetration and/or creating new demand.
  • Shifts from competing in the market to making our competition irrelevant through our robust value proposition and the ability to present oneself as a solution provider.
  • Identifies and builds strategies to develop prospect customers through the leveraging of our diverse competitive advantages and utilization of our strategic supplier partners.
  • Facilitates and tailors the value proposition offered by Motion to each potential customer.
  • Communicates how Motion delivers unique and relevant value to all members of the decision-making team and clearly articulates how it will positively impact their cost to produce.
  • Fosters an environment of active communication creating a shared strategy by working with and through our internal organization and field teams ensuring we complement each other in the market.
  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to build a repository of knowledge to clearly communicate with all internal stakeholders, as well as document customer critical information.
  • Utilizes CRM system to document pipeline/funnel with key stages of the sales cycle and milestones, as well as blueprint the buying decision journey.
  • Utilizes marketing, industry, and internal data to support strategies and how to approach each customer/prospect as a unique opportunity.
  • Helps to establish a clear, long- term strategy of account ownership with respective customers/prospects and internal teams to complement a seamless transition to the supporting Field Sales Level or Corporate Accounts leader.
  • Remains actively engaged with Corporate Accounts to ensure continued alignment with prospect customers to deliver maximum value and foster a long- term mutually beneficial relationship.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of related sales experience or an equivalent combination. Previous Division or Regional P & L responsibility preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • More than 50% travel required.
