Job description

Director, Business Continuity & Resilience (Finance)
Director, Business Continuity & Resilience

Help Protect the Mission Behind Every Moment of Care

At Nemours Children's Health, resilience is more than operational readiness. It is the ability to continue delivering exceptional care, supporting associates, and serving children and families when the unexpected happens.

We are seeking an accomplished Director, Business Continuity & Resilience to build and lead our enterprise Business Continuity Management Program and strengthen readiness across our health system. This highly visible leadership role will help ensure that Nemours can anticipate disruption, respond with confidence, recover effectively, and continue advancing our mission during our most challenging moments.

The Impact You Will Make

As Director, you will establish the enterprise strategy, governance, standards, and performance framework for business continuity and resilience. Working with executive leaders and teams across clinical operations, information technology, facilities, security, supply chain, legal, communications, and emergency preparedness, you will connect people, processes, technology, and recovery capabilities into an integrated resilience program.

Your work will help protect critical services, strengthen organizational decision-making, and support Nemours' ability to remain ready for business disruptions, significant incidents, and emerging risks. You will influence across the enterprise, bring clarity to complex situations, and help leaders translate risk into practical, sustainable action.

What You Will Lead
  • Establish and continuously improve Nemours' enterprise Business Continuity Management Program, including governance, policies, standards, procedures, templates, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead the enterprise continuity-of-operations framework and promote consistent implementation across business units and regions.
  • Oversee business impact analyses to identify critical processes, dependencies, recovery requirements, and appropriate recovery strategies.
  • Ensure continuity plans remain current, actionable, and connected to identified risks and operational priorities.
  • Develop an integrated testing and exercise program that validates business, operational, clinical-support, technology, and facilities recovery capabilities.
  • Strengthen enterprise incident-command readiness through crisis and continuity playbooks, decision-support tools, role-based training, and exercises.
  • Partner with IT, Facilities, Security, and other stakeholders to integrate business continuity with disaster recovery and facilities recovery.
  • Monitor emerging risks, elevate material concerns, and support leaders in developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Create executive dashboards and meaningful performance measures that demonstrate program maturity, readiness, and effectiveness.
  • Provide standards, guidance, templates, and integration support to regional and site emergency-preparedness teams.
  • Contribute to continuity and resilience reviews involving critical third-party service providers.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, associates, administrators, and vendors across Nemours.
Why This Role Matters

Nemours Children's Health provides care through two freestanding children's hospitals and a pediatric network serving communities across multiple states. Our work extends beyond clinical treatment to research, education, advocacy, prevention, and partnerships designed to help create the healthiest generations of children.

In this role, you will help protect the systems, services, and partnerships that make that work possible. Your leadership will support an organization-wide culture in which resilience is built into how we plan, operate, respond, and improve.

What You Bring
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in business continuity, organizational resilience, crisis management, emergency-management integration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and continually improving an enterprise Business Continuity Management Program.
  • Strong expertise in business impact analysis, risk assessment, recovery planning, crisis management, exercises, corrective actions, and executive reporting.
  • The ability to lead through influence and build productive partnerships across clinical, operational, technical, and corporate functions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical audiences and senior executives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, program-management , and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience leading complex strategic initiatives; healthcare or hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Security, Emergency Management, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
  • One of the following professional credentials: CBCI, MBCI, CBCP, MCBP, CPP, or CTM.
The Leader We Are Looking For

You are a strategic builder who can create structure while remaining flexible in a fast-moving environment. You understand that plans only create value when people can use them, leaders trust them, and exercises confirm that they work.

You bring sound judgment, executive presence, and the ability to turn complex risks into clear priorities. Most importantly, you recognize that resilience in a children's health system ultimately supports something much larger: the safety, well-being, and future of every child and family we serve.
