Job summary

Nuro is seeking a Director-level leader for the Eval Platform to shape the simulation, evaluation, and compute/storage roadmap that underpins autonomous driving development. This role will drive multi-team collaboration and ensure robust, scalable tools for rapid autonomy iteration.

The candidate will mentor managers and senior ICs, promote technical excellence, and partner with Autonomy and Systems leadership to deliver trustable validation and deployment readiness across the platform.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in building simulation systems and evaluation platforms for large-scale ML/robotics systems.
• Strong understanding of autonomy and validation; ability to build high-quality tools for these use cases.
• Proven experience leading and scaling high-impact engineering organizations, including managers and senior ICs.
• Ability to translate complex technical signals into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical vision and roadmap for the Eval Platform, spanning simulation, evaluation infrastructure, compute and storage platform.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-team organization (managers and senior ICs), fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Build and scale simulation and eval capabilities that support rapid autonomy iteration and rigorous validation use cases.
• Own the autonomy evaluation and validation platform, partnering with Autonomy and Systems leadership to ensure reliability and trust across teams.
• Represent Eval Platform at the executive level, communicating tradeoffs, progress, risks, and readiness.
