Job summary

Nuro is seeking a Head of Systems Engineering to own the systems backbone enabling the Nuro Driver to scale safely and commercially. This leader will oversee end-to-end systems engineering across autonomy, software and hardware, safety case, requirements, architecture, validation, and deployment readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems engineering experience in a related field.
• Experience leading systems engineering or equivalent functions across hardware and software.
• Proven track record developing senior technical leaders and high-ownership teams.
• Excellent communication skills for executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the Systems Engineering function across autonomy, hardware, safety case, requirements, validation, and deployment readiness.
• Define the systems engineering strategy to support growth across cities, platforms, and markets.
• Translate goals into system requirements, measurable targets, validation plans and launch readiness.
• Oversee interface management for autonomy software, sensing, compute, vehicle software and hardware, and safety.
• Drive system-level safety case collaboration with multiple teams and ensure rigorous evidence-based arguments.
