Storm2 seeks a Director, Assistant General Counsel in Greenville, SC (Hybrid) to serve as a strategic legal advisor across regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and enterprise risk management. Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of legal experience in finance or fintech.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Background in commercial contracts and litigation management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on regulatory, compliance, governance, and risk-related matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee a wide range of commercial contracts and vendor agreements.
• Lead legal support for regulatory change management initiatives and assess the impact of evolving federal and state regulations.
• Advise business leaders on legal risks and practical mitigation strategies.
• Oversee litigation matters and manage relationships with outside counsel.
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, and corporate governance frameworks.
• Partner with executive leadership, compliance, operations, and business teams on key strategic initiatives.
• Support enterprise risk management and insurance-related matters.
• Deliver training and guidance on legal and regulatory topics.

Compensation: $180,000 – $240,000 base + bonus + comprehensive benefits

A rapidly growing financial services and technology-driven lending organization is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel to serve as a strategic legal advisor across regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, litigation management, and enterprise risk initiatives.
This role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to help shape legal and regulatory strategy within a highly regulated, growth-focused environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives while mitigating legal and compliance risk.

What We’re Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• 5+ years of legal experience within a law firm, corporate legal department, financial services organization, or fintech environment
• Strong experience advising on regulatory compliance and risk management matters
• Background in commercial contracts, litigation management, and legal operations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
