Job summary

National Equity Fund, Inc. (NEF) is seeking a Director, Asset Management to lead and oversee a diverse LIHTC investment portfolio across the East Region.

This role partners with the Managing Director to ensure disciplined asset management, accurate reporting, and proactive risk management. You will guide staff, develop performance goals, and coordinate underwriting and acquisition reviews while addressing financial, compliance, and sponsor-related issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, real estate, public admin, urban planning, or related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years in real estate asset management, affordable housing, or related oversight.
• Strong knowledge of LIHTC, regulatory agreements, audits, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset management practices across NEF’s portfolio and ensure high-quality reporting.
• Provide coaching and oversight to staff, set goals, and ensure timely deliverables.
• Prepare portfolio reports, risk assessments, and executive summaries with clear recommendations.
• Support underwriting and acquisition reviews evaluating sponsor capacity and market conditions.
• Manage portfolio risks, including financial performance, occupancy, compliance, and audits.
