Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking a Director to lead Army STEM Internships and Fellowships, coordinating across Army labs and ASE C partners to deliver paid research experiences for students and teachers.

The role oversees program development, budgeting, compliance, and cross-department collaboration, with travel possible and flexibility for remote, hybrid, or onsite work. A PhD is preferred and 8+ years in STEM education is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 8 years of relevant experience
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
• PhD preferred

Responsibilities

• Designs programs that support the university’s strategic, academic, and operational goals.
• Develops project plans, defining objectives and success metrics, coordinating resources, and evaluating outcomes.
• Serves as a liaison across departments to align goals, timelines, and deliverables for complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Facilitates communication, resolves conflicts, and ensures coordinated action to enhance program integration and impact.
• Develops and oversees program budgets, ensuring responsible financial stewardship.
• Regularly monitor expenditures and resource allocation.
• Establishes and tracks performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness and support decision-making.
• Interprets and applies university policies and external regulations to ensure compliance.
• Anticipates risks and maintains institutional accountability and integrity.
• Cultivates strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Identifies barriers to participation and promotes inclusive access.
• Regularly assess efforts to support a diverse campus environment.
• Other duties as assigned
