Job summary

Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC seeks a Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Events to lead the strategic execution of a comprehensive annual giving program supporting scholarships and operating budgets. You will coordinate communications and solicitation strategies across email, direct mail, phone, visits, and volunteer engagement.

You will work with the Executive Director of Development for gift management and alumni engagement to foster growth of best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of successful annual giving experience preferred, in a higher education setting.
• Experience collaborating with diverse donors, prospects, and volunteer groups.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles and practices in higher education including personal solicitation, direct mail, telephone solicitations, e-solicitations and online giving.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills with discretion and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor an annual giving budget and solicitation plan including direct mail, telephone engagement, email, giving challenges, and other digital strategies.
• Manage a prospect portfolio with annual goals for personal visits and giving outcomes.
• Focus on effective communication and solicitation activities within constituency segments identified for growth.
• Oversee faculty/staff campaigns and student giving programs with guidance from the Executive Director for Development.
• Collaborate with Development staff to coordinate fundraising and move donors to major gifts where appropriate.
• Work with Marketing on website and social media for annual giving and alumni events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations.
• Plan and coordinate the College Reunion Weekend and related alumni events.
