PBS Foundation seeks a Director of Annual Giving to lead strategy, execution, and evaluation of donor programs. The role grows unrestricted and restricted annual fund revenue through multi-channel campaigns, donor engagement, stewardship, and data-driven fundraising.

Collaborating with Marketing, Finance, and Program teams, you will build a sustainable donor pipeline and advance major gift prospects while guiding analytics and performance management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including annual giving.
  • Demonstrated success growing donor participation and annual fund revenue.
  • Experience managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
  • Knowledge of donor database/CRM systems and fundraising analytics.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing budgets.

Position Overview:

The Director of Annual Giving leads the strategy, execution, and evaluation of annual fundraising programs designed to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors. This position is responsible for growing unrestricted and restricted annual fund revenue through multi-channel campaigns, donor engagement, stewardship, and data-driven fundraising initiatives. The Director works collaboratively across the Foundation, marketing, finance, and program teams to build a sustainable pipeline of donors and future major gift prospects.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Annual Giving Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving strategy aligned with organizational fundraising goals.

  • Establish annual revenue, donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, and upgrade goals.

  • Create multi-year plans to grow annual fund participation and revenue.

  • Monitor fundraising trends and recommend innovative approaches to donor engagement.

Donor Acquisition and Retention

  • Design and execute integrated fundraising campaigns acrossmail,email, and other platforms.

  • Collaborate with the Donor Relations Team to develop strategies to increase donor retention and lifetime value.

  • Manage donor segmentation and personalized solicitation strategies.

  • Oversee donor renewal, recapture, and upgrade programs.

Leadership Giving and Pipeline Development

  • Identifyand cultivateleadershipannual giving prospects.

  • Partner withPrincipal Gift fundraisersto transition qualified donors into majorand principalgift portfolios.

  • Partner with the Donor Relations Team to helpdevelop giving societies and donor recognition programs.

  • Partner with the Donor Relations Team tocreate stewardship strategies that strengthen donor loyalty and engagement.

Data Analytics and Performance Management

  • Analyze campaign performance and donor behavior metrics.

  • Track key performance indicators including donor retention, acquisition cost, average gift size, and return on investment.

  • Utilize CRM and fundraising analytics tools to inform decision-making.

  • Produce regular reports and dashboards for leadership.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Superviseconsultants,and vendors asappropriate.

  • Collaborate withPBS MarketingandCommunications Teamon campaign messaging and creative development.

  • Work closely withAdvancementServices to ensure data integrity and gift processing accuracy.

  • Manage relationships with mail houses, digital agencies, and technology vendors.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage theannual givingbudget.

  • Monitor campaign expenses and revenue projections.

  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize fundraising results.

Requirements for Success:

  • Bachelor's degreerequired; advanced degree preferred.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $120,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
