Job summary

Volkswagen Group of America in Belmont, CA seeks a Director, Digital Ecosystem Applications (MUST HAVE ANDROID/AOSP/ANDROID AUTOMOTIVE) to lead the In‑Vehicle Computing & Digital Ecosystem Applications team across AAOS, SDV, and AI‑driven cockpit initiatives.

You will drive multi‑year budgets, recruit and mentor engineers, coordinate with SoC vendors and cloud partners, and report on architecture readiness and strategic roadmaps for infotainment across VW brands. Remote work up to 40% may apply.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• MS Engineering or PhD preferred.
• Expertise in AAOS, infotainment, and in-vehicle compute platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical mission, architecture strategy, and long-term platform vision for AAOS and SDV‑driven ecosystems.
• Provide leadership across the full software stack including Android Framework, HAL, middleware, and cloud AI runtimes.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams in platform bring-up, integration, and performance optimization.
• Manage multi-year budgets for platform development, AI integration, and SDV compute evolution.
• Deliver executive-level technical reporting on architecture decisions and milestones.
• Drive strategic planning for infotainment portfolios and SDV software roadmaps.
