Job summary

South Dakota State University Alumni & Foundation is seeking a Director of Alumni Outreach and Mentor Programs to lead the alumni mentoring program for SDSU students and coordinate young alumni career development. The role involves building relationships with campus partners, alumni and friends, presenting at events and meetings, and driving strategic initiatives across the foundation and campus.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in a related field.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to steward collaboration and productivity with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and confidential communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, implement, and execute the alumni to student mentor program.
• Establish relationships with campus administration, faculty, and staff to recruit students to the program.
• Recruit and train alumni mentors to work with SDSU juniors and seniors.
• Deliver and facilitate professional development programs in-person and virtually for alumni and students.
• Drive the strategic vision for the student mentor program and execute the deliverables.
• Evaluate and measure success against short-term and long-term goals.
• Represent the SDSU Alumni & Foundation to groups of alumni and friends of the university.
• Participate in events, meetings, and travel as needed; present on topics relevant to the organization.
