Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks a Director of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection (MEPF) Engineering in College Park, GA. You will lead the MEPF team, manage consultants, and drive design and construction for airport facilities while maintaining budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities include developing engineering standards, reviewing designs, and coordinating with architects, contractors, and federal agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of work experience in medium/large hub airport construction with some supervision experience.
• Master’s degree preferred; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the MEPF engineering team and consultants, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Oversee the design and analysis of MEPF systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Develop and implement engineering standards, procedures, and quality control measures.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and drawings.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to meet goals.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and junior engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in MEPF engineering.
• Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and proposals.
• Supervise construction inspections and manage change orders.
