Job summary

Job Summary

The Director, AI Strategy & Enablement leads Trinchero Family Estates' enterprise AI strategy, portfolio, governance, adoption, and value realization. This role partners across the business to identify high-value opportunities, redesign workflows, guide responsible AI use, build internal capability, and move AI from experimentation to measurable business impact.

Enterprise AI Strategy and Portfolio Leadership
  • Define and maintain TFE’s enterprise AI strategy, operating model, roadmap, governance rhythm, and portfolio priorities.
  • Create and manage a standardized intake, evaluation, prioritization, funding recommendation, and scale/stop decision process for AI and automation opportunities.
  • Maintain a visible AI portfolio with business owners, executive sponsors, expected outcomes, status, risks, dependencies, and value measures.
  • Prepare regular AI portfolio updates, decision recommendations, and value reporting for the AI Executive Steering Committee.
Business Transformation and Enablement
  • Partner with the business to identify AI enabled workflow, decision, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, process redesign discussions, and use-case workshops that determine whether AI, automation, product, data, or process change is the right answer.
  • Help business leaders define outcomes, adoption plans, ownership, baselines, and success measures before initiatives move forward.
  • Drive adoption through practical enablement, demonstrations, communications, change management, and reinforcement with business leaders.
Responsible AI, Governance, and Risk Management
  • Partner with IT, Security, Legal, HR, Compliance, and Data & Analytics to establish responsible-use standards, review checkpoints, and solution governance.
  • Ensure AI initiatives appropriately address data protection, privacy, permissions, human review, transparency, compliance, and operational risk.
  • Create reusable templates, playbooks, and decision frameworks for AI opportunity assessment, solution review, vendor evaluation, adoption, and value measurement.
Workforce Capability and Partner Management
  • Develop function-specific AI learning and adoption plans for business users, leaders, champions, and technical teams.
  • Launch and support an AI Champion Network that surfaces use cases, supports pilots, shares lessons learned, and reinforces approved practices.
  • Lead or coordinate external consultants, vendors, and technical partners as needed, with clear scopes of work, business ownership, and knowledge-transfer expectations.
  • Accept new or modified duties and perform them in a satisfactory and timely manner.
Responsibility Level
  • High degree of judgment, discretion, ownership, and follow-through required.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and lead a cross-functional virtual team.
  • Responsible for connecting enterprise priorities to practical AI initiatives that produce measurable business outcomes.
  • Expected to challenge assumptions, frame business problems clearly, evaluate buy/build/partner options, and recommend scale, revise, or stop decisions.
  • Must communicate complex AI, technology, risk, and transformation concepts in clear business language for executive and functional audiences.
  • Accountable for building internal capability and reducing long-term dependence on consultants through documentation, reusable assets, training, and ownership transfer.
  • Must conduct business professionally, build trust across departments, and maintain a constructive, pragmatic, and responsible approach to AI adoption.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Data, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in business transformation, digital transformation, product management, process automation, consulting, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives from strategy through adoption, change management, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI, copilots, intelligent agents, automation, data platforms, integration concepts, governance, security, and responsible-use considerations.
  • Proven ability to develop operating models, governance frameworks, portfolio processes, value cases, and executive-level recommendations.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with a practical orientation toward business outcomes.
  • Experience managing vendors, consultants, solution evaluations, pilots, implementation plans, and knowledge-transfer expectations.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or agriculture preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, Microsoft Fabric, enterprise data ecosystems, or similar platforms preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Extensive collaboration, computer work, facilitation, documentation, and executive communication.
  • Office environment with the ability to work across TFE locations and with distributed teams.
  • Frequent interaction with senior leaders, department heads, technical teams, vendors, and consultants.
  • Multiple strategic initiatives, pilots, and priorities in progress at any given time.
  • Occasional long or irregular hours may be required to meet business, project, or executive timelines.
  • Frequent deadline pressure and the need to balance innovation, adoption, governance, and risk.
Salary Range

$170,000.00 - $220,000.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits. We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
