Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director to own the network and data center engineering strategy, design, and delivery, supporting enterprise AI/ML workloads and GPU environments.

The role leads a high-performing team, drives modernization, and partners with cloud, platform, and security leadership to ensure secure, scalable and resilient connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 10+ years in network or data center engineering; 5+ years in strategic leadership with people management; 5+ years in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce network architecture standards, security controls, and compliance policies.
• Establish best practices for configuration, deployment, and operations.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise governance frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, PCI, HITRUST, CSA).
• Advise executives on network strategy, roadmaps, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, secure and scalable solutions.
• Engage vendors on solution architectures, design, contracts, and delivery.
• Design and implement data center fabrics (leaf-spine, Clos, EVPN/VXLAN).
• Configure AI/GPU-optimized networking (low latency, high throughput) for GPU workloads.
• Optimize performance with RDMA, RoCE, ECN, PFC; multi-cloud architectures (GCP, etc.).
• Oversee 24/7 network operations across cloud and data centers; lead incident response.
• Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams; foster collaboration and accountability.
• Advance networking for AI/ML infrastructure and GPU clusters; promote IaC.
