Ladders is seeking a Director, AI/ML Engineering for Claims Automation & Orchestration, remote in the US. Lead architectural direction for AI/ML-driven automation in claims processing, focusing on orchestration, control, and execution across multiple systems, combining hands-on leadership with team management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in AI/ML engineering, automation engineering, or technology leadership roles.
• 5+ years designing and delivering automation across multiple systems.
• 5+ years establishing engineering standards and controls for technology solutions.
• 5+ years designing integration patterns and workflow orchestration.
• 3+ years applying AI/ML or RPA technologies to improve processes.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams and technical delivery teams.
• Experience working with business and technology stakeholders in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of a claims orchestration layer.
• Design a runtime routing model for task management based on confidence and risk.
• Establish execution patterns for multi-step claims processes.
• Create common integration standards for shared orchestration capabilities.
• Build validation and control mechanisms for claims handling.
• Instrument the orchestration layer with observability and reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align orchestration strategy.
• Recruit and lead a team of AI/ML engineers while remaining hands-on in design.
