Job summary

Capital One seeks a Director, AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to lead AI engineering within the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team. You will partner with engineers, researchers, program managers, and product leaders to deliver AI-powered products and to design scalable foundation-model architectures.

You are deeply technical with 8+ years in AI/ML and at least 3 years of people leadership, comfortable with cloud deployment, governance, and responsible-AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with required years of AI/ML experience.
• At least 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI model training, inference, governance and observability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI components.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions across OSS and SaaS AI tech.
• Drive foundation model optimization for scale, cost, latency.
• Contribute to AI strategy and roadmap.
