Job summary

BNY is seeking a hands-on, senior software engineer to join its Loans Platform team. You will own a portion of the platform, work across backend services (Java/Python), frontend tooling (React), AI orchestration, smart contracts, and policy logic to deliver real financial transactions at scale.

You will mentor engineers, drive engineering standards, and partner with product, operations, and compliance to translate business requirements into reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems.
• Deep proficiency in at least one stack layer and ability to work across others.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and API design.
• Experience with Java, Python, React, Kafka, Oracle, Snowflake, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Owns one platform area and contributes across backend, frontend, AI orchestration, contracts or policy logic.
• Designs, builds, and deploys components end-to-end from discovery to production.
• Architects event-driven systems using Kafka and containerized deployments.
• Leads technical discovery and rapid prototyping for new capabilities.
