Job summary

Northeastern University in Oakland seeks a visionary Director to launch and scale the BS in Engineering Design program. This founding leadership role will build an AI-fluent, human-centered, interdisciplinary engineering curriculum designed to prepare students to contribute from day one in industry.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience designing, launching, or significantly reforming engineering education programs with experiential, interdisciplinary, or AI-integrated learning.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in academic program leadership, industry partnership management, or workforce development in engineering or technical higher education.
• Experience in a co-op-based or experiential learning environment preferred.
• Scholarly or applied work in engineering education or curriculum innovation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual strategic plans for the BS in Engineering Design program.
• Oversee the program launch in Fall 2027 and drive ongoing curriculum innovation.
• Manage industry partnerships and revenue-generation activities for the program.
• Oversee two required co-ops per student and ensure meaningful industry experiences.
• Direct day-to-day program operations including enrollment, scheduling, and delivery.
• Lead marketing, outreach, and cross-department collaboration to grow the program.
