Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in San Diego is seeking a Director of Computer-Directed Drug Design (CDDD) and AI-Native Molecular Design to lead the In Silico Drug Discovery portfolio. The role is based in San Diego, CA (La Jolla area) with up to 20% travel and no remote option.

You will guide computational design across small-molecule programs and collaborate across chemistry, biology, DMPK, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Co-own program strategy, molecular design priorities, and critical discovery decisions with medicinal chemistry, biology, project, therapeutic area, and developability leaders.
• Translate target product profiles, biological hypotheses, project goals, decision points, risks, and constraints into integrated computational and experimental strategies.
• Lead the portfolio-embedded CD3 team as responsible computational molecular architects
• Orchestrate design-make-test-learn cycles and define scientific questions, decision criteria, and success measures.
