Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Supply Chain Accounting to lead accounting for hardware and fixed assets across the compute stack, from BOM to deployment. You will establish scalable processes, partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance, and drive improvements for accurate financial reporting.

You will guide a team of accounting professionals, ensuring compliance with ASC 360, costing, and asset management while partnering with engineering and operations to improve cost

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in tech or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 360 (capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals) and cost accounting concepts in a supply chain context.
• Experience managing a significant fixed asset or component/inventory portfolio in a high-growth environment.
• Demonstrate strong analytical abilities and comfort with large, complex datasets.
• Track record of improving scalable financial processes in fast-moving environments.
• Experience leading and developing teams of accounting professionals.
• Adept at translating technical accounting concepts into financial implications for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting for compute stack components—from BOM cost accumulation to fixed asset status.
• Apply ASC 360 and cost accounting practices, including standard vs. actual costing and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance during contracts to ensure accounting implications are understood.
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders with clear financial insights.
• Improve upstream data pipelines and component tracking, including serial-number-level controls.
• Design and scale systems, processes, and controls for a growing fixed asset portfolio.
• Lead and mentor accounting professionals on your portfolio.
• Coordinate with external auditors on fixed asset accounting matters.
• Drive process improvements and automation, including AI tooling.
