Job summary
The Broad Institute seeks an Associate Director of Software Engineering to design, develop, and operate large-scale infrastructure powering scientific discovery. Ideal candidates have extensive leadership in DevOps/SRE, strong communication skills, and deep experience with modern cloud-native architectures.
Qualifications
- Experience leading engineering teams in DevOps or platform roles.
- Proven ability to design and deliver high-scale distributed systems.
- Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with agentic systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Direct architectural design for agentic capabilities with scalability.
- Mentor engineers and scale the team as funding allows.
- Enforce best practices for DevOps, observability, and IaC.
- Collaborate with scientists and external partners to translate requirements.
- Translate research needs into production-grade systems.
