Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a strategic and technology-focused attorney to serve as Director, Associate General Counsel for Cisco's Security Business Group (SBG).

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Associate General Counsel for Cisco's Security, Observability and Data Platform organization, you will lead the legal professionals delivering elite, front-line counseling across the full breadth of product development and go-to-market activities for the dynamic business units comprising SBG.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree with active bar in good standing.
• 10–12+ years of relevant legal experience.
• 5+ years leading attorneys and legal professionals.
• Experience advising executives on product development, licensing, IP, privacy, AI, cybersecurity.
• Experience leading global product portfolios or business units.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and inspire the legal teams supporting the SBG units.
• Advise senior business leaders on product development, technology strategy, regulatory requirements, IP, licensing, data, privacy, cybersecurity, and commercial matters.
• Guide legal support for SBG products throughout their lifecycles: compose, development, launch, commercialization, integration, and compliance.
• Develop scalable legal strategies and operating models for security software, cloud, data, AI, and platform offerings.
• Collaborate across Product Legal and with cross-functional partners, including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, operations, privacy, security, regulatory, AI governance, competition, and corporate development.
