Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. in New Jersey seeks a Director Actuary to lead a team of actuaries within the P&C Programs Insurance Business Unit.

You will provide actuarial support, deliver insights, and develop strategies to monitor health and profitability. You will review profitability, monitor rate changes and underwriting mix, conduct actuarial studies to improve pricing, participate in large account pricing, build pricing tools, and partner with Strategic Analytics to deploy advanced analytics

Qualifications

ACAS/FCAS qualification or equivalent.
6+ years of actuarial experience with strong quantitative/qualitative analysis.
Strong programming skills for building pricing tools and analyses (Python/SQL/VBA).
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and collaboration with business units.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Provide actuarial support to the P&C Programs unit and lead the actuary team.
Analyze profitability and submission performance; assess portfolio profitability.
Monitor rate changes, pricing adequacy and underwriting mix for new/renewal business.
Conduct studies to improve pricing parameters and segmentation for profitable opportunities.
Lead pricing for large renewal accounts and develop pricing tools.
Partner with Strategic Analytics to deploy advanced analytics and automation.
