Job summary

CareSource is seeking a Director of Actuarial Science to guide strategic direction, drive innovation, and deliver insights that affect company performance.

The role leads an actuarial team, ensures adherence to actuarial standards, and partners with stakeholders to develop AI-enabled solutions for pricing, forecasting, and regulatory support, while staying current with regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a related field required
• Eight (8) years of decision support, financial analysis, or actuarial experience preferred
• Three (3) years of management experience preferred
• Strong database (SAS or Access) experience preferred
• Managed Care or healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Forecast Medicaid, close month-end activities and monitor performance with analyses
• Develop models and run projections to support pricing and forecasting
• Influence senior leaders on actuarial concepts and regulatory interactions
• Lead new business initiatives and cross-functional opportunities
• Guide and mentor actuarial staff and ensure adherence to standards
• Stay current on regulatory developments affecting the business
• Develop tactical plans and drive problem solving within the function
• Explain financial drivers including IBNR and accruals
• Support AI-enabled actuarial solutions for pricing, forecasting and regulatory support
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities for responsible implementation
