Job summary

onX is seeking an experienced Access & Stewardship Program Director to lead and grow the company’s A&S program. This role defines priorities, drives annual planning, and oversees grants, stewardship initiatives, customer education, and policy-informed projects.

The Director translates priorities into clear plans, aligns partnerships, and manages education and tools with measurability. This position focuses on credible, nonpartisan advancement and reports to the Director of Brand Programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree as listed or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years in program management, advocacy, government relations, or related fields.
Experience with federal policy, advocacy, or government relations.
Experience leading cross-functional programs with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven partnerships.
Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive enterprise outcomes.
Strong strategic thinking and judgment in evolving environments.
Proven ownership mindset and ability to move work forward.
Comfort as both strategist and hands-on leader with a small team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior leaders and external partners.
Data-informed decision making and reporting to measure progress.
Experience leading or developing direct reports with accountability.
Curiosity for new technologies, including AI, and alignment with onX values.
US permanent work authorization.

Responsibilities

Set strategic direction for onX's Access & Stewardship program and translate goals into sequenced initiatives.
Own the annual A&S Plan and investment focus across the portfolio.
Incorporate policy context, lands realities, and stewardship priorities into strategy.
Drive adoption of A&S priorities across vertical businesses and align teams.
Direct customer education and manage the Adventure Forever Grant Program budget and approvals.
Coach A&S teammates and stay involved in day-to-day program work.
Manage government relations and policy consultant relationships and priorities.
Shape policy positions with internal experts and leadership in a nonpartisan way.
Identify and manage priority nonprofit and community partners.
Lead DC engagements with congressional offices and agency stakeholders.
Define success metrics and oversee the annual Impact Report.
Synthesize inputs into executive-ready updates and present risks and opportunities.
