Job summary

Fordham University in New York is seeking a Director of Academic Operations to oversee the day-to-day functions of the Office of the Provost and to align academic priorities with reliable processes, calendars, and data.

You will partner with deans, faculty leaders, and central offices to advance strategic planning, staffing, and budget management across Fordham’s eight colleges and schools, while supporting accreditation and assessment initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; five years in higher-education administration or comparable complex organization preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with data, reporting tools, and budgets.
• Excellent writing and communication with discretion for confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Manages core academic administrative processes for the Office of the Provost, including contract workflows and calendars; standardizes procedures and resolves escalations.
• Drives academic strategic planning and organizational design with senior leadership; manages cross-functional projects and timelines.
• Coordinates budget reviews, divisional staffing plans, and position requests.
• Partners with IT and system owners to optimize academic systems, workflows, and dashboards.
• Prepares briefing materials and analyses for Provost’s Office decision-making.
• Works with academic financial planning on budgets, resources, and cost tracking; supports accreditation and assessment initiatives.
